COVID-19 Practice Update

Alternatively we offer a courier service for a small fee, if your struggling to make it out or shielding due to Covid-19 and you have broken your denture we offer a courier service straight to your door. Our drivers adhere to full PPE and social distancing pick up and delivered back on the same day.

Denture Cosmetics will soon be welcoming back patients following our temporary closure due to the onset of the COVID-19 outbreak. It’s important to us that before visiting, you’re up to speed on the measures we’re taking to ensure the safety of both patients and Denture Cosmetics’ staff.

Our aim is to minimise the risk of anyone contracting or spreading COVID-19 on our site, and as such we will be operating on the assumption that everyone who visits us is COVID-19 positive. This allows us to be hyper-vigilant and avoid “hedging out bets” or opting for halfway measures.

We’re pleased to note that a number of the new protocols recommended for dental clinics have long been in place at Denture Cosmetics. For example, we have UV-C light technology which can kill the virus in a matter of seconds, as well as hypochlorous disinfectant mouthwash and similar products/techniques that ensure the safety of you and our clinicians. Protocols that were not previously in place have also been worked in; we are committed to continued investment in new protocols and procedures that will further minimise the risk of operating during the outbreak.

It’s key to note that our approach will result in longer appointment times and fewer appointments each day. While this will certainly impact our clinic’s running costs, we have no current plans to increase the cost of our products and services, and will instead look to absorb this hit until things “get back to normal”.

So what should you expect to have changed when you next attend an appointment at Denture Cosmetics? Below, we’ve run over a list of the practice we have in place. Patients should keep an eye on their email inboxes, as further updates may be sent directly to you.

Before beginning, we urge any patient who has exhibited symptoms of COVID-19, or been in contact with persons exhibiting symptoms, to inform us before booking an appointment so we can provide tailored advice considering individual circumstances.

New Practice

  • Please pose any questions concerning your appointment/treatment before visiting the clinic. We are always happy to answer them via phone or email.
  • Only a single patient will be permitted in the practice at any one time, meaning appointments will be staggered and appointment times extended.
  • When arriving at the practice, park up and call us to confirm your arrival. Wait in your vehicle until we call you to say it’s fine to come in.
  • If possible, please attend the appointment alone.
  • A member of staff will open the door for you, or the door will be left ajar.
  • Social Distancing remains in place at the clinic; staff and patients should look to observe it wherever physically possible.
  • Please make use of the hand sanitizer, shoe coverings and garment bags we have available for patients.
  • Try to minimise the number of personal belongings you bring along to your appointment.
  • All staff members will be wearing face visors/masks at all times; it’s not compulsory for you to wear one yourself.
  • We aim to make it so you can head straight into the surgery, with no downtime waiting in reception. However, should you need to wait in reception, know that it is thoroughly cleaned after each patient for your safety and peace of mind.
  • The toilet shall not be closed and will be regularly cleaned; please inform a member of staff that you wish to use it so we can confirm it’s been cleaned before your arrival.
  • While we look to minimise interaction between patients and the reception desk, they will of course be on hand to assist when needed. If possible, please pay in advance by BACS or over the phone. Contactless payments are a second best, and cash can be sterilized via ultra violet light if you’re unable to pay by other means.
  • Follow up appointments can be made over the phone, or at the desk as you leave.

Due to the unprecedented nature of the crisis, guidelines are evolving alongside our understanding of the virus. We’re keeping abreast of any changes in guidelines, and will be the first to put them into practice (and inform you of this).

Should you have any concerns or feedback for us, whether COVID-19 related or not, don’t hesitate to contact us via phone or email. We want you to feel safe and comfortable when visiting Denture Cosmetics, and will takes steps to ensure this is the case wherever possible. The same goes for if you require any explanation of the above practice, your treatment or our products.

We hope you’re staying safe during all this, and look forward to seeing you soon.

Best Wishes,

Denture Cosmetics
