At Denture Cosmetics, our technicians understand that some patients encounter difficulties when they wear dentures for the first time. Slurred speech, salivating, poor chewing action and loose fitting are all common problems. The maxillary (upper) denture provides easier functionality than the mandibulary (lower) denture in most cases.
Traditionally, the upper denture uses the shape of the palate to create suction that keeps it in place. Technicians fabricate the denture to create a seal while the lower denture sits on the lower jawbone ridge. Although most new wearers feel instantly comfortable with the upper denture, it is the lower denture that frequently causes problems.
We use TCS® Suction Cup Dentures to help your fitting stay in place. The technology behind the TCS® system introduces several small suction cups made from a soft and comfortable silicon rubber. The suction cups engage the denture to the gum tissue to create a gentle grip that holds the fitting in place and cushions the gums.
Denture Cosmetics recommend TCS® Suction Cup Dentures for patients with loose or poorly fitting dentures to improve the user experience and the quality of their lives. We can convert all conventional acrylic dentures using standard relining techniques and TCS® Suction Cup Dentures at our dedicated Liverpool clinic.
